How to play

  1. See today's exercise and choose timer on or off. Your score is the same either way.
  2. Press Start. Each of the five rounds is one short puzzle.
  3. Get a round right and the next one is a level harder; miss and it's a level easier.
  4. After each round you see the right answer, then move on when you're ready.
  5. At the end you get a score out of 100 and how it compares with your own usual for that exercise.

Frequently asked questions

What is Warmup?
Warmup is a free daily puzzle warm-up. Each day has one quick exercise, played as five short rounds. Everyone at the same level gets the same puzzles that day, and your score is compared only with your own usual.
How long does it take?
About two minutes: five rounds of 15 to 25 seconds each, plus a moment between rounds.
Why is it different every day?
Each day of the week has its own exercise. Monday: Grid Recall; Tuesday: Number Chain; Wednesday: Odd One Out; Thursday: Number Recall; Friday: Arrow Trail; Saturday: Weekend Mix; Sunday: Weekend Mix. The Weekend Mix is five rounds, each a different exercise on your own level for it; from October 17, 2026 one of them is always Word Scramble: put mixed-up letters back in order to spell a common word. The puzzles themselves are new every day.
How does the level work?
Each exercise has a level from 1 to 10, kept on your device. A session starts one level below yours as a warm-up. Get a round right and the next one is a level harder; miss and it is a level easier. After the session your level moves part of the way toward the highest level you passed, so one unusual day does not swing it much.
Can I play without a timer?
Yes. Turn the timer off on the start card and nothing is timed: you look for as long as you like and move on when you are ready. With the timer on you can give yourself up to three times as long, and Pause hides the puzzle and stops the clock. Your score is the same either way, because it depends on the level and on getting rounds right, never on speed.
Will Warmup improve my memory?
Warmup is a game, not a health product. We don't claim it improves memory, attention or any other ability, and it isn't a test or a diagnosis. It's a quick daily puzzle you can enjoy and track your own scores on. If you're worried about your memory, talk to a doctor.
Do I need an account, and what is stored?
No account. Your levels, scores, streak and settings, including the optional age range, are saved in your browser on this device and never leave it. You can see them, download them as a file, import them on another device, or delete them, on your Warmup stats page. Clearing your browser data resets them too. A new warm-up unlocks at midnight, your local time.
